Expressions of Congratulations, Hope, and Wish

Assalamu'alaikum guys! 

In the previous blog, we learned about "Recount Text". And now, we will learn a new chapter about the expressions of "congratulation, hope, and wish." Maybe you often to hear those words. When do we say these? What words are often used? To find out the answer, come on checking out the following explanation! Keep spirit, we are 9th graders, haha.

1. Congratulation
Congratulation is an expression used to express our happiness by saying congratulation for the success, achievement or happiness of others. 
In everyday, we often use that expressions, for instance  when we say to our friends because she gets the first prize, a scholarship, etc.

You can use the following expressions to say congratulation.

° Congratulations, ...!
° Congratulation for you ...!
° Congratulations on your wedding!
° Congratulations on being the champion of the class ...!
° That's very beautiful handicraft!
° Congratulation on the birth of your, ...!
° Congratulation on getting a new job, ...!
° I'm like to congratulate you on your graduation, ...!
° I'd be the first to congratulate you on ...!
    
Well if for example we are given congratulations, of course we will respond to that statement. What can we say to respond in English? Here are the examples of responses.

° Thank you, ...
° Thank you for saying so.
° Thank you so much.
° Thank you for your kind guidance.
° Thanks a lot.
° Thanks! I'm so happy to hear that.
    
Okay, now we go on to the second expression, that is  "hope"

2. Hope 

Hope is an expression used to express our hopes to others/ ourselves. For example, when we express hope to our friends; they can win a competition, get scholarship, get the first rank, etc... 

The following are examples of sentences to express hope in English language:
° I hope you get the champion.
° I hope you get the scholarship.
° I hope we can meet again at the next competition.
° I hope you get the best score.
° I hope we will be a winner.
etc ...

Response:
° Thank you for your hopes, ...
° I hope so.
° Thanks, ...
° Thank you ..... for your support
etc ...

3. Wish
This expression is also almost the same as hope. But, wish is more to prayer. For example, we hope our friend to be successful, better, etc.

Examples of expressions of wish are as follows. 
° I wish you all the best.
° I wish you would get the first prize again.
° I wish you could be ...
etc ...

Response:
° Thank you, ...!
° Thank you for your wishes, ...!
etc... 

4. Example of dialogues (congratulations, hope, and wish)

Well this time I will share 2 examples of dialogue about 3 expressions.

Example 1
Lani: Hi, guys .. how many scores have you got in math yesterday?
Dina: I got 80, Tiara got 75, Edo got 60, and Jaya got 95. How about you?
Lani: I got 100.
Edo: Wow…congratulation !!
Tiara: It's mean your score is the highest from us.
Lani: Thankyou guys. And about your score you must try again .. keep spirit, I know you can get a very good score in next time!
Jaya: Thank you for supporting us.
Lani: Of course, I will support you until we succeed together.
Jaya: I hope we can succeed in the future.
Edo: And I wish I will be the winner in the class with my score in math ... hahaha

* Expressions of Congratulations:
  ° Wow congratulation !!
   Response: Thank you, Guys.
* Expressions of Hope:
  ° I hope we can succeed in the future.
* Expressions of Wish:
  ° I wish I will be the winner in the class with my score in math ...

Example 2
For this second example, this is my own dialogue. 



Vina: Hi, Ella! What competition did you join?

Ella: Hi, Vina! I joined the speech contest and I  am waiting for the results of the championship.

Vina: Oow I see, I hope you get the champion!

Ella: Thank you Vina. I hope so. How about you? What the competition did you join?

Vina: I joined the CCA competition

Ella: Did you win the competition?

Vina: Alhamdulillah , yes I did. I get the first prize, and tomorrow I will join to the next competition.

Ella: Wow, congratulation, Vina. I wish you will get the first position again.

Vina: Thank you for your wishes, Ella.

Ella: Anytime.

Vina: By the way, I have to go now. See you Ella.

Ella: See you, too, Vina. I Hope we can meet again at the next competition!

Vina: I hope so, bye Ella! (leave Ella)

Ok, Guys. Let’s me conclude what I have told you. So, ‘congratulation’ is an expression to express congratulations of the happiness/ success of others, "hope" is an expression to express our hopes to friend/ ourselves, and "wish" to express our prayers/ wishes to other/ ourselves.
